Please, Come Home-Coming Out of a Cult
This was a recent letter I wrote to a person who has gotten “caught up” in a cultic group. I’ve purposefully left unnamed this group so as not to identify, in any way, my friend. However, this is a group that denies Jesus Christ as God in the Flesh, and doesn’t believe that Jesus is the ONLY way to know God. 22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Messiah. [d] Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. I John 2:22-23 I’ve been especially burdened for my friend, and as I was praying around I’ve sent the following letter to my friend and hope God will use it to bring about glory to HIS name. If you are experiencing a similar situation, you are welcomed to use this as you feel lead. Dr. Tom ************************ Dear _________ I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let that person be under God's curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: “If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let that person be under God's curse!” Gal. 1:6-9 (Name), please come home. I woke up around Please don't allow any need in your life to cause you to reject and be ashamed of Jesus. Not in light of all HIS suffering on the cross that purchased our salvation. As Christ followers we are called to defend the gospel. Remember, I baptized you as a Christian, and you professed to have Jesus Christ as your Savior. Please don't be ashamed of Him and don't disown Him for any reason. I realize there are some "scriptures" you may not fully grasp. However, I can tell you that the answers and explanation from (the name of the group), while they may be easy for you to grasp, still ARE NOT accurate. There is much in the BIBLE that we can clearly understand, like this passage from Acts. Speaking about Jesus Christ, 12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name given under heaven by which we must be saved." Acts No matter how you speak it, cut it or dice it, the group you are involved with does not accept Jesus Christ as GOD in the FLESH. By joining them you are denying Jesus.
